NJ Shop Hop 2011

The 10th NJ Shop Hop is in full swing with lots of happy hoppers making their way to 11 quilt shops throughout the state of NJ!

Our Shop Hop Quilt appropriately titled "The Royal Basket" has been well received and we have sold out of the finishing kits already!

We put the Shop Hop Button pattern into a cute little pillow. The hoppers collect (1) button at each shop.

Cherri House Presentation

Last evening I had the opportunity to attend a wonderful program sponsored by the Philly Modern Quilt Guild featuring Cherri House from Houston Texas!

Cherri works exclusively in solids & that really intrigued me! The picture is of the quilt pictured to the left is City Play from Cherri's City Quilts book. We do have several copy's available at the shop.

I have challenged myself as well as all of you to explore this. Stay tuned for a class this summer/fall where we will explore the endless possibilities of solids!

Lilly & Will Baby Quilt

I am finally ready to send the baby quilt to my nephew in Rhode Island. Baby Allison was born in October, but I just had to wait till Moda's Lilly & Will fabric arrived to put the plan together. I used Bunny Hill's Park Lane Quilt Pattern for the baby quilt, Terry Atkinson's Zippy Strippy pattern for the bag & our own in house pattern for the sweet little bibs! The Folded Star Ornament is a class we offer year around & I thought it would make a nice baby's 1st Christmas Ornament- oops perhaps it will hang on their tree next Christmas!

Holiday Apron

Just starting to work on a few holiday gifts & thought I'd share this one with you. This beautiful pointsetta print came into the shop in early September, but we just didn't know quite what to do with it. I had a sudden inspiration to see it in an apron & viola! It's really sharp looking & best of all it only took about 90 minutes to stitch up! Kits are available at the shop in both red & green accents.

Thanksgiving 2010

Just in time for Thanksgiving!
I finished up the binding on this Happy Holidays Table Topper just in time for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to making one for Christmas! This pattern by Terry Atkinson is so much fun to put together. Its just equilateral triangles that are sewn together, quilted & add binding.

International Quilt Market Day #3

Today the market floor opened its doors! Wow, miles & miles of vendors or so it seems. Our first priority was to visit Quiltwoman.com & check out Karen's book, Soldiers Pride it's hot off the press! We have just finished up Soldiers Pride as a Block of the Month program at the shop & now it the pattern is available to the entire quilting world!
The rest of the day was what I call
" window shopping". Checking out all the new & wonderful things & deciding what to purchase for the shop. For tomorrow is buying day!
