The Pleated Tote

I met this young purse pattern designer, Jen Giddens last May at Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. I was drawn to her clean lines & designs! I finally had some time to make up a sample of The Pleated Tote pattern & I was so thrilled. Clear precise instructions with great results! I love this bag! I'll be teaching it this fall at the shop!
Let me know what you think...leave a comment!

Phillies Baby I Do Quilt

Quilters are great baseball fans!  Here in the Philadelphia area we do love our Phillies! I attended the recent Stitich & Pitch game at Citizens Bank Park last month where I proudly stitched the binding on this Baby I Do Quilt while watching the game (Stitch & Pitch Event happens once a year). I had to improvise the pattern just a bit, because this was the very last of my Phillies fabric!  Baby I Do  is a great pattern by Cherry House Quilts & these circles are a breeze with the 6 Minute Circle Technique!  GO PHILLIES!

My Daughter's First Quilt

True happiness is when your daughter finally makes her first quilt!

I think true happiness is watching your daughter finally make her 1st quilt! Ok, so she is almost 24, but she did it! This quilt is a graduation present for her boyfriend John. It is a Turning Twenty in brushed plaids by MODA. The dogs had a big part in the quilt.....they were guilty of eating a block or two!

Spring Quilt Market 2011

Day 3 at Spring Quilt Market, Salt Lake City Utah

I finally caught up with Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts in her booth. A spectacular booth! Julie's quilts were showcased all over the market floor!

A visit with Jo Morton! Her new book , Banner Day will be out any day now! And a new small fabric pallet called Jo's Favorites will be available soon. This collection of red & white prints was inspired after Jo's visited to the Red & White Exhibit in NYC in March 2011.

As usual, bags & purses were a very hot item! I was particularly taken by this new talented designer, Jen Giddens.

Next stop.....home!

Cherri House Presentation

Last evening I had the opportunity to attend a wonderful program sponsored by the Philly Modern Quilt Guild featuring Cherri House from Houston Texas!

Cherri works exclusively in solids & that really intrigued me! The picture is of the quilt pictured to the left is City Play from Cherri's City Quilts book. We do have several copy's available at the shop.

I have challenged myself as well as all of you to explore this. Stay tuned for a class this summer/fall where we will explore the endless possibilities of solids!

Lilly & Will Baby Quilt

I am finally ready to send the baby quilt to my nephew in Rhode Island. Baby Allison was born in October, but I just had to wait till Moda's Lilly & Will fabric arrived to put the plan together. I used Bunny Hill's Park Lane Quilt Pattern for the baby quilt, Terry Atkinson's Zippy Strippy pattern for the bag & our own in house pattern for the sweet little bibs! The Folded Star Ornament is a class we offer year around & I thought it would make a nice baby's 1st Christmas Ornament- oops perhaps it will hang on their tree next Christmas!
