Goosefeathers Tree

Have had this pattern sitting around for years & when Deb Tucker came out with her new Flying geese ruler called the Wing Clipper I thought it would be a great way to try it out. And wow! I love it..... perfect flying geese everytime.

I used Moda's Fruitcake Holiday line to make up my sample and Delia did her magic with her machine quilting. We gave the pattern for this out during our Christmas in July Open House, so if you missed out we'll have a kits available at the shop soon. Wing Clipper is also available at the shop!

Summer 9-Patch Project

I am joining Quilt Shops across the USA & suggesting you all join this Summer's 9-Patch Project! Just for fun & just to make us feel like we are using up our fabric stash! I am challenging you all to do (1) block a day for 45 days. That should bring us to August where we will have fun sharing ideas of putting them together!

So just make one nine patch block each day using your stash. Just one block each day. Any size, any color, using any method There are no 9 Patch Police, so if you prefer to sit down and make a weeks worth of blocks at one time, that's OK too. I'm recommending a 6" finished block, but you can choose any size you like (actually I have tons of 5" squares so I am going to make big ones too). Bigger blocks mean bigger quilts. Here's a cool way of making a 9-Patch Block.

Alex's Lemonade Days begins tomorrow!

Well we made it! Tomorrow starts the fundraiser & our Wonky 9-Patch Pink Lemonade Quilt is ready! Stop in and visit us or any shop in the Mill Race Village, enjoy a cup of lemonade & make a donation to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation & you will automatically be entered into our drawing to win this fun quilt! I have received many inquiries as to a pattern for this quilt. I cannot take credit for it. it is the work of the talented Elizabeth Hartmann. Visit her blog for the directions.
