Prettiest Snow

This was the scene outside my bedroom window on January 8th, 2010. Such a beautiful dusting of snow. It was so breathtaking, I thought if I could just capture the scene & put it into a quilt. Perhaps someday. But for now it will just have to rest in my blog. Put it on the list.

Best Christmas Gift

My staff & my close friends & family all know that I am a big promoter of giving handmade gifts! I love the whole Zakka concept. This year I made Dresden Plate hotpads that were awesome. Stop in and the shop and I'll be happy to give you the pattern. Well this Christmas I was very much taken back, when my nephews Chris (8) and Evan (6) presented me with their handmade gift on Christmas Day! A knock-off Ugly Doll! Meet Elfie! Isn't he just the cutest ugly elf you ever saw?

Fall Quilt Market 2009 Houston Texas

Just back from Fall Quilt Market, Houston Texas. It was a fantastic show, with great fabrics, patterns & inspiration everywhere! I can not wait to to show you all ..what is new! The very nice surprise was meeting up with Mary Jane Butters from Mary Jane's Farm Magazine, a favorite at The Village Quilter. She introduced her very first fabric line through Andover Fabrics!

Also, lots of wonderful Japanese taupe fabrics from several fabric companies. I love these fabrics, as they envoke a certain element of calm & tranquility. We currently have a MODA line called Evening Mist that I invite you to explore. We are currently working on a shop sample & I can see it in a great winter handbag.

Let me know what your thoughts!

The Moorestown T-Shirt Quilt

Moorestown Mall T-Shirt Quilt Dedication

The Moorestown Area Quilters worked all spring & summer in piecing together a Moorestown T-Shirt Quilt that will hang permanently in the Moorestown Mall. The dedication ceremony was this past Saturday Sept 26 & was highlighted with Meg Cox as the guest speaker. Pretty cool thing to happen in a mall!

A Busy Weekend!

Well we had a wonderful, busy weekend at the shop. We had a guest teacher Aunt Phyllis from Aunt Phyllies Toothbrush Rugs in from Denver to teach five (5) full classes on how to make her oval toothbrush rugs! She arrived Thursday evening with her puppy Abigail in tow who made friends quickly with all the students & shoppers & was eventually given free rein of the shop.
